The areas of expertise of Reyaz include Quaternary Geology and Paleoclimate. He is contributing significantly to Quaternary Himalayan Geology through glacial geomorphology, isotopic studies, phytolith analysis, rock magnetic studies. He has published over 25 research papers in reputed journals, like include Earth Science Reviews, Catena, Geoscience Frontiers, etc. He has organized many national and international field expeditions to the Himalayas.
